Beowulf--What Kind of Hero?

So, Beowulf was considered as an Epic Hero, but what really makes someone an Epic Hero?  For one, he does show great strength.  Even strength that humans can't possibly do, like when he killed his enemy "under water".  And it also seems that Epic Heroes never really fall in love!! Why is this? Is it because they are too busy being all masculine and heroic that no one wants to date them?  They seem to be too dominant and controlling, and the other person might want to sometimes have a say or two in the relationship.. Anyways, that was totally irrelevant. Back to Beowulf, I really like the presentation that the Beowulf group did, especially the video that they showed at the end.  It really opens my eyes about how sometimes we can misunderstand an enemy and want to destroy them for no real reason when their intention was not to hurt anyone. Poor Dragon!
